My 1963 Corvette Coupe has been in the family since new. Being in that fortunate and unique situation, I was very thorough in my search for someone to do the restoration work. Childhood memories and feeling responsibility for a cherished heirloom inspired me in more ways than some others considering restoration work. I spent a year researching before finally selecting someone to do the work. My standards were very high, and some of the best Corvette restorers in the eastern U.S. were on my list. I spoke to Joe on
multiple occasions via phone, met him at an NCRS event in Pennsylvania, and I even flew to Boston to visit (inspect?) the Bowtie Shop. I found Joe’s credentials were impeccable and his reputation outstanding. References were passionate and sincere. Joe’s budget estimate was fair and he clearly understood the goal I had in mind for the car. My restoration went like clockwork. At each decision along the way, Joe's advice was insightful and experienced. The workmanship was outstanding and Joe kept us on budget. Ultimately my father’s Corvette earned an NCRS Duntov Award, the most prestigious recognition from the most demanding judging process in the entire antique automotive industry. I could not be prouder of the car, or more pleased with the work done at the Bowtie Shop. I recommend the Bowtie Shop to anyone looking for an antique car restorer.
